The government requires OFWs in Thailand to be cautious and vigilant due to the declaration of state of emergency in some parts of the country namely Bangkok, Nonthaburi Province; Lad Lum Kaew District (Pathumthani Province); and Bang Phli District (Samutprakan Province). In effect, the POEA board debarred the deployment of newly hired OFWs intending to work in the four specific areas. Moreover, the Philippine embassy in Thailand is regularly monitoring the developments and is totally in control should the situation get worse.
Filipino-American Youth Leadership Program (FYLPRO) delegates shared their stories and experiences touring around the Philippines at a town hall meeting in New York. Some of the delegates conveyed that the program helped them develop a stronger appreciation of the Philippines. They also encouraged other participants to not just visit, but also to contribute, establish partnerships, and collaborate with their fellow Filipinos. Another FYLPRO will be held July this year and there will be 10 slots available. Applications of interested applicants will be accepted by the end of February.
